How to Apply for Funding:
The UTCM Procurement Process
FY09 Submission Deadline: September 22, 2008
Each year in the summer, UTCM makes a Request for Preliminary Proposals (RFPP) as a first step in the procurement process for projects to be awarded for the fiscal year. This year's RFPP opened July 1, 2008 and the deadline for submission of Preliminary Proposals is September 22, 2008.
Preliminary Proposals (PPs) must fit the UTCM theme, and may be for a research project, an education project or a technology transfer (T2) project. The preliminary proposal submission procedure, including helpful hints, format, FAQs and other details can be found in the Introduction in the Preliminary Proposals box at right.
PPs are reviewed and ranked by the UTCM Executive Committee and Advisory Board. Based on these rankings and other criteria, Formal Proposals are invited by the UTCM Executive Committee and Director. Those who are invited to submit a Formal Proposal should follow the steps found in the Formal Proposals box, above right.
Project Types
Research
Research projects must relate to one or more of the center's Research Focus Areas, and should include education and technology transfer (T2) components. For example, the education component of a research project could be meaningful student involvement, and the T2 component could be peer-reviewed publication or presentation at a conference.
Education
Education projects may include new course or program development. For more ideas, select "Education" from the menu at left.
Technology Transfer (T2)
T2 projects may include such activities as conference planning, professional development seminars, K-12 outreach or diversity initiatives. For more ideas, select "Technology Transfer" from the menu at left.
Lists of previously funded projects can be found at left under "Projects."
